Eye allergy (allergic conjunctivitis) also causes obvious interference in our daily activities and negatively affects our performance.
Beyond that, the existence of eye allergy without treatment can lead to vision problems and various aesthetic problems:
- Changes in the skin around the eyes which include development of "bags" with discoloration.
- Recurrent eye infections.
- Swelling and thickening of the tissue of the conjunctivae (the inner tissue of the eyelids and the tissue over the eye itself), which poses an aesthetic problem and may become disruptive for the vision leading to unwarranted surgery.
- Poor concentration during the day (which in children can lead to poor school performance and impaired achievements).
