Inhaled particles are small enough to be suspended in the air and we actually breathe them. These particles come also into close contact with the eyes and in some persons may be the culprit of eye allergies.
There is a huge variety of inhaled particles responsible for allergic disease, particularly nose and eye allergies, asthma.
These are among the most common inhaled allergenic factors:
- House dust mite (see explanation separately).
- Animal skin particles and secretions (see explanation separately).
- Pollen of trees, weeds and grasses (see explanation separately).
- Molds: fungus that grow in moist surfaces.
